This is the first book from Patrick Rothfuss and I am very impressed. He tells a great story that has action, magic, and humor. To me those are three things that make a great story. The magic system is easy to understand and doesn't go overboard with it's complexity (I'm looking at you Brandon Sanderson). If I were to suggest a book to someone who has a passing interest in fantasy, it would be this one.
